TRANSFORMING ADVERSITY INTO ART.
Franklin “YK the Mayor” Fontaine, formerly known as Young Kidd, helps youth transform adversity into music and art through his workshops and motivational talks.
YK the Mayor, who is of Black and Indigenous ancestry, was born and raised by a single mother in Winnipeg’s inner city. He gained recognition after founding CTL Records over a decade ago but now dedicates his life to mentorship, using authentic storytelling and the power of music to create lasting change.
Drawing from personal experience, he tackles challenging topics like street life, gangs and addiction—empowering at-risk youth to channel hardship into artistic expression and unlock their full potential.
Bring YK the Mayor to your community. Book him for speaking engagements and workshops that empower youth, because youth are the future.
